Jonathan B. Fairbanks is a partner and co-founder of Global Energy Capital (GEC), a Houston-based private equity fund investing in energy service companies. Prior to joining GEC, he created significant value for investors as either a founder or a manager of several energy services and equipment companies. He was a founder and director of the following public companies: Chiles Offshore, Floatel International, Hercules Offshore, Seajacks International, and Scorpion Offshore. He also served on the board of Forum Energy Technologies. Prior to 2008, Mr. Fairbanks was President of Bassøe Offshore, a global leader in offshore drilling rig and vessel brokerage. Mr. Fairbanks is the chairman of the board of the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston, a trustee of the Center for Strategic & International Studies(CSIS) in Washington, D.C., and a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO). He received a B.A. degree in political science from Denison University and studied European history at St. Peter’s College, Oxford University.
