Samer Asfour serves in the Royal Hashemite Court as a special advisor to His Majesty King Abdullah II with responsibility for new technologies and pilot projects. Mr. Asfour is a specialist in economic and social development, global trade, public finance and investment. Prior to his current position, he served as Director of the Economic and Social Affairs Directorate in the Royal Court. Before that, Samer was Executive Director for Government Sector for Emerging Markets at PwC. Samer also served as Chief Executive Officer of the Jordan Investment Board and was Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister of Jordan. Before that, he served as Deputy City Manager for Economic Development & Planning with the Greater Amman Municipality, where his mission included the Amman Master Plan and city vision for the next 20 years. He is a Board Member of several entities, chairman of the Basket Ball Federation. Samer is also a Young Global Leader and also a member of the Agenda Council at the World Economic Forum and he is a President Eisenhower Fellow. Samer holds an MBA (Honors) from the University of Denver, an MSc in International Securities, Investment and Banking (Honors) from the University of Reading, and a BSc in Economics, Statistics and Political Science (Honors) from the University of Jordan. He has also attended several courses at Harvard University.
